About Sony RX100 VII Premium Compact Camera with 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor (DSCRX100M7)
73% were impressed with size and portability
The Sony camera satisfies my need for pocketability and has an excellent pop-up EV.
71% liked low-light performance results, but 29% experienced issues
I compared the low light performance of the camera with my iPhone XR and found that the one inch sensor performs better than my iPhone XR. However, it cannot compete with a full-frame sensor nor a bigger apsc sensor, such as those found in the A7 series or A6 series.
The low light capability of this camera is not great. The Zeiss lens is good in bright light, but the 24-200mm at F2.8 - F4.5 is not a fast lens. So, in somewhat low light at ISO 800 or higher, there will be quite a bit of noise in my photos.
74% highlighted the image stabilization, however 26% found it insufficient
The camera has a de-centered lens, resulting in blurry edges on the left and top of the frame, even when the rest of the image is in focus.
I noticed that the camera has a de-centered lens, causing blurry edges on the left and top of the frame, even when the rest of the image is in focus. The camera has a de-centered lens, resulting in blurry edges on the left and top of the frame, even when the rest of the image is in focus.
82% appreciated the connectivity options, although 18% found it difficult
The camera's supporting technology is poor. Touchscreen technology is lacking and wifi & bluetooth technology are technically there, but nearly unworkable. It takes a lot of fiddling every time I connect, and keeping any connection alive drains the battery quickly.
83% found the battery long-lasting, but 17% were disappointed
After taking a few hundred photos, I found the battery life to be good for a couple of hours.
I could not even take 200 pictures with one charge of the camera's battery. It does not meet the claims made by Sony.
Keeping any connection alive drains the battery quickly.
70% found the autofocus speed helpful, but 30% encountered issues
I can autofocus on a moving bird with the camera, which is the holy grail for birding, especially if I just want to throw it in my pocket on a bike ride.
Almost all of my photos are blurry, even in a room with big windows and sunny out.
