I have found that the knife holds an edge very well, but it takes some time to get it sharp once dulled. However, once sharp, it holds the edge for a good amount of time.
The blade passes the shave test and is razor sharp. I use it all day cutting rope, tape, and cardboard and it's a breeze to use.
