I confirmed that the rods sag in the middle when extended to its maximum width, which is in line with most reviews.
For a small 6 foot wide vinyl backdrop, I don't need to use anything as the stands are fairly stable on their own. However, when it starts getting wider, I need to use sandbags or something on the feet to keep them in place for more stability.

I found this backdrop stand set to be lightweight and easy to store. While I could have built a DIY PVC stand for a little cheaper, this set is ready to go and easily stored when I don't need it.
When using the equipment, it takes up a lot of space which could be problematic for frequent transportation.
The equipment is not portable enough to hold a 10 foot backdrop. I suggest adding 6 inches more leeway on both sides to fit a tube on the cross bar and still have the holes sticking out both sides to insert into the stands.

After replacing the detent spring with a lighter one and spraying the connector region of the tube with lubricant, it became much easier for me to disconnect.
