The bait holder is extremely difficult to remove, which is the only way to release the trapped animal. It must be terrifying for the tiny creature. Also, their poop gets caught under the mechanism and does not rise out easily.
There is a design flaw with the trap. The door is supposed to slide up easily but a small plastic tab on the top of the curved part of the door prevents it from sliding out.
