I suspect that the trap door is not closing fully due to the mouse-tails, which allows the chipmunks and moles to escape. This is a significant design flaw.
I believe the trap has not caught any mouse because of the design of its door. There is a gap at the bottom of the door which is wide enough for a mouse to wedge itself under and pry the door open.

I find the product very humane and easy to set up. I appreciate the special sponge for easy cleaning and the fact that I can see who is in the trap. I have successfully captured a house mouse with this product.
