I can feel the airflow from the Vornado fan from across the room and down the hallway to the bedrooms. It does its job as described.
If pointed towards the ceiling or a wall, I get great continuous airflow from the fan even though it does not oscillate.

My unit is less noisy than any other fan I have owned and it is barely audible.
The low setting of the fan is very quiet when it's close to me, but the high setting can move air from about 8 feet and sounds like intense white noise with no rattling or off-noises.
On different settings, the fan's noise level varies. On the lowest setting, it is silent, on the second setting, it is barely audible, and on the highest setting, it is louder but still less noisy than other fans in the house. I am sensitive to sounds, so it is likely that the fan is not very noisy even on the highest setting. The fan's low-pitched sound is also easier on the ears than high-pitched sounds.
