About Redragon K556 RGB LED Backlit Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
82% highlighted the wrist rest
I suggest that for those who type a lot and are seated in a certain way, a wrist rest would be better. However, the keyboard is perfect in size for my slide-out keyboard tray and chair height.
93% found it exceptional, but 7% faced issues
The key faces are large enough to let through a lot of light from the SMT backlighting, and replaceable if I don't like the included keycaps.
The keyboard has a standard layout with all the keys in proper size and location.
The space between the round keys is smaller, making it difficult to press them without touching the neighboring key.
The key-faces are too small and have a non-standard size and layout.
93% liked the customization software
I chose this keyboard over others because it does not require any software, as I play a lot of games and do not want any extra background processes.
I have customized the individual RGB backlighting of the keyboard and found it easy to do so.
94% were satisfied with the build quality and durability
I have been using this keyboard for two years and it has been reliable since I started gaming on it.
The aluminum build of the keyboard is excellent with no twist or creak, unlike plastic keyboards.
I noticed that the keyboard has a solid feel with metal housing and textured keycaps.
I have only felt the sturdy, weighted feel of the keyboard on high end keyboards.
The keyboard is built like a tank and weighs more than my laptop. It is solid on my desk with good rubber feet, so I have no concerns about it moving or sliding.
98% were impressed with the backlighting, but 2% weren't
The backlighting is perfect for me as a cave dwelling web developer.
I could not find a way to turn off the backlighting other than dimming it.
I suggest that for those who type a lot and are seated in a certain way, a wrist rest would be better. However, the keyboard is perfect in size for my slide-out keyboard tray and chair height.
I recommend using a wrist rest to elevate your hands and match the angle.
