About Redragon K556 RGB LED Backlit Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
80% were satisfied with the build quality and durability
The keyboard's build quality really stands out.
I was pleasantly surprised by the impressive build quality of the keyboard.
82% liked the customization software
I love the software that allows configuring the coloration of the keys. It is fairly intuitive and allows an amazing amount of customization.
The software from the website is easy to use and can be customized to suit my preferences.
This keyboard has a third party software that rivals Razers Chroma Studio software in terms of customizability.
74% appreciated the key switch type, but 26% were dissatisfied
The key switch type of my keyboard is hot-swappable, making it easy to take off a switch unlike the K580 which requires brute force.
I like the key switches because they provide enough resistance for me to rest my fingers on the keys when not typing and are not too loud.
The brown switches have a low travel-to-actuation and reasonable minimum key pressure, making them consistent for pressure. They are light for quick gameplay inputs but solid enough to avoid accidental fat-fingering during home row typing.
I use a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switches that balance gaming and general use needs.
76% found it exceptional
My keyboard is full-size but perfect for my narrow keyboard tray.
The keyboard has nice, chunky, well-designed functional legs to prop it up.
70% highlighted the wrist rest
I purchased a Red Dragon wrist rest which mostly resolved my wrist issue.
I suggest that for those who type a lot and are seated in a certain way, a wrist rest would be better. However, the keyboard is perfect in size for my slide-out keyboard tray and chair height.
I appreciate the size and layout of the keyboard, especially its width, which is suitable for someone with smaller hands.
