About HyperX Alloy Core RGB Membrane Gaming Keyboard
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
92% highlighted the wrist rest, but 8% struggled
I got a wrist rest and now I have no complaints. One should be aware that they will need a wrist rest if they get this keyboard.
I suggest using a wrist rest for a comfortable typing experience.
I experienced wrist pain and think a big panel or wrist rest would have been great.
87% found it exceptional, but 13% faced issues
I was looking for a keyboard with specific criteria like full size standard layout, media control keys and volume controls. I am enjoying the full size keys and normal key depression depths compared to the old keyboard I was using before.
While typing, I feel cramped due to the smaller key size compared to a normal keyboard.
The keys feel smaller and skinnier than my last keyboard. If someone has pudgy or nubby fingers, they may mistype on this keyboard.
92% appreciated the key switch type
The keys are not completely silent when typing, but they are quieter than some other mechanical keyboards. This makes it a good option for those who want a keyboard that feels nice and is a little quieter.
I prefer the key switches on this keyboard over knockoff Cherry brown switches from no-name Chinese keyboards.
I do not like the feel of blue switches when gaming as they are incredibly loud.
I have noticed that the keyboard has excellent key stability and feel, despite being a non-mechanical switch board.
93% liked the customization software
Color customization is easy to figure out and with the ability to color code vertical sections of the board, I can really personalize my keyboard.
The Core model doesn't need extra software, limiting customization options. But I like not having to install another application.
95% were satisfied with the build quality and durability
I can't speak to durability yet since it's only a few days old, but the braided cord feels strong and the whole thing seems pretty beefy.
The keyboard has water resistance, which is a nice bonus.
The keyboard's build quality is astounding and meets my expectations from the brand HyperX.
The build quality of my keyboard is great and the keys are softer and quieter than my previous keyboard.
The build quality is very good with no deck flex, braided cable and smooth and premium key caps.
85% were impressed with the backlighting, but 15% weren't
I was looking for a keyboard with pretty backlighting and this non-mechanical keyboard surpassed my expectations.
The LED backlighting gives an impression of keys floating in a sea of pastels.
The backlighting is very bright, the color transitions on the flow mode are smooth and pretty, the lighting is even, and the colors are vibrant.
The keyboard has better brightness than my previous one, but it lacks per-key backlighting and the lights shine oddly through the keycaps when viewed at an angle.
During long gaming sessions, a wrist rest would have helped me keep my wrists more comfortable while using the keyboard.
