I had concerns about the comfort of the patio chair with a metal backrest, but those concerns were quickly alleviated when I sat down. The backrest was comfortable and completely smooth, with no ridges or protruding pieces.
I stored the cushions that came with the chairs and bought full bottom/back cushions. Now I really love the chairs.
