About TUL Custom Note-Taking System Discbound Hole Punch
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
84% liked the adjustable punching settings, but 16% found them confusing
I find the adjustable bar for changing paper sizes frustrating as it is not specific enough and doesn't lock in place, requiring guesswork when punching papers of different sizes.
I faced an issue with the paper punch where one pillar kept getting stuck. I looked at the back and found turn screws. I loosened them and still one kept getting stuck. I adjusted them all a few times until it worked perfectly.
I have to punch a sample and compare it to adjust the guide because the ruler on the guide is not visible. This shows that the adjustability of the paper-punches is not user-friendly.
78% appreciated the high capacity, but 22% found it limited
I am disappointed that the paper punch can only handle 3 sheets of standard printer paper at a time without crushing the paper.
85% praised the durable construction, but 15% experienced breakage
On the first punch, one of the punches got stuck, indicating that the durability of the paper-punch is not good.
I ran into a small issue after using the hole punch for only 5 times. I punched a laminated sheet and it got stuck. I took off the bottom part where the paper is stored and punched them back out with a pair of scissors. I went back and punched another laminated sheet and it punched perfect but one of the little punches did get stuck and I had to pull the laminated sheet out. I turned the punch over and popped the little punch back out and tried again on a second laminated sheet. This time, after I punched it I firmly held the sheet in place so it didn't move and I pumped the punch up and down 3 more times to make sure the paper wasn't stuck. It came out perfect. Based on my experience, I would say that the durability of paper-punches is not up to the mark.
82% found it easy to use and maneuver, while 18% struggled with the mechanism
The paper punch has multiple punches and requires a bit of wiggling to get it to work all the way in, but it works great if I do that.
I tried to open the sealed paper-punch using different tools but it did not work.
77% appreciated the easy maintenance, but 23% found it tedious
I adjusted the screws of the paper punch to fix the issue of one pillar getting stuck and not coming back up. After a few adjustments, it worked perfectly.
I faced an issue with the paper-punch parts being stuck and frozen in place, requiring me to take it apart and use tools to fix it.
69% praised the clean punch quality, but 31% experienced jamming issues
I have used the hole punch only 5 times and ran into a small issue. I punched a laminated sheet and it got stuck, but I easily fixed it. Then I punched another laminated sheet and it punched perfectly, but one of the little punches got stuck and I had to pull the sheet out. I turned the punch over and popped the little punch back out and tried again on a second laminated sheet. This time, after I punched it, I firmly held the sheet in place so it didn't move and pumped the punch up and down 3 more times to make sure the paper wasn't stuck. It came out perfect.
The adjustable bar is not specific enough to change to different sizes of paper.
I am having trouble with the punch as paper gets jammed in the slots and some holes are partially punched.
I find the adjustable bar for changing paper sizes frustrating as it is not specific enough and doesn't lock in place, requiring guesswork when punching papers of different sizes.
The second pair of paper punches did not function properly as one side of the hole was not lined up with the punch part on the other, resulting in no hole being punched through the paper.
The hole punch is built like a tank with an all-metal body except for the rubber base that catches the punched out holes, making it durable and long-lasting.
