About Officemate Heavy Duty 2-Hole Punch, Padded Handle
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
68% liked the adjustable punching settings, but 32% found them confusing
If it wasn't for the looseness of the spacing slide bar, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
83% appreciated the high capacity, but 17% found it limited
For normal paper users, the punch is just a standard 25-30 page punch despite claiming to be a 50-page punch.
The 2 hole puncher does not align with the standard A4 2 pronged binder.
80% praised the durable construction, but 20% experienced breakage
I used the punch on several boxes worth of files and the product appears to be solidly constructed.
The bottom tray of the paper punch is too big and easily comes off from the base, causing confetti to spill everywhere.
79% found it easy to use and maneuver, while 21% struggled with the mechanism
The paper punch has super sharp cutters, so there's no need to bash it with your hand to make it through the entire stack.
The ruler/slide is loose and needs modification, making it almost impossible to use accurately right out of the box.
If not for the looseness of the spacing slide bar, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
74% appreciated the easy maintenance, but 26% found it tedious
I fixed the problem of the loose slide bar by removing the bottom plastic covering, which exposed a tension piece that slightly bends upwards to hold the slide bar in place.
Pieces of paper build up by the right hand punch and block the paper.
The ruler/guide does not stay in place, causing the holes to be off-centered and the pages to have multiple holes from re-punching.
I was disappointed that there was no warning about the lube leaving a stain on documents. I had to clean it up and even after that, it left a slight oily residue on the document for a couple of uses. The product works fine other than that.

There was no warning about the lube leaving a stain on documents, which was disappointing. Cleaning it up didn't help much as it left a slight oily residue on the document for a couple of uses. Other than that, the product works fine.
78% praised the clean punch quality, but 22% experienced jamming issues
I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the looseness of the spacing slide bar.
I have found that the hole punching mechanism cannot be adjusted. I have tried not putting the pages all the way in when punching, but this often results in poor quality. This is negative feedback regarding the adjustability of the paper-punch.
I am frustrated with the adjustability of the paper-punches. The alignment of the holes is very limiting and does not match up with the binder I have. It is not easy to move the punches around and it is nearly impossible to read the measurements on the holes behind the mechanism. I have compared it with another hole puncher that uses a slider and it takes seconds to adjust. My overall sentiment is negative.
The design flaw in the catching trap mechanism is a problem. The grip is comfortable to hold, but the mechanism is poorly designed.
