I find the color not vibrant enough and it would be see through on a black background.

I warn that the pen tip may extend beyond the customary range set by the manufacturing specifications, but it will reset to its original position when pushing to the surface.
My pen's tip cannot depress fully on softer surfaces, which means it is not doing its intended job.
When not used for a while, the tip and liquid inside it will start to dry out. Sometimes pushing the tip does nothing since it is dried in there. The only way to remove the dried paint is with paint thinner or 90% alcohol, which creates a mess.
