About PowerSmart 1000 Watts Portable Generator, Outdoor generator Low Noise
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
83% appreciated the high power output
I was able to keep a large freezer and a 100 watt light bulb going for two hours on one tank.
I tested the generator on a two-stage electric heater, starting at 600 watts, then 900 watts, and finally both settings at once for 1500 watts, which exceeded the rated capacity. It ran fine for the ten-minute test run.
I have been using the generator to power yard tools and chainsaws on the go for the past 2 years. It can handle up to 1200 watts for 10+ minutes with one of my saws.
The generator has a power output of 7-800 watts at 105v. Some devices may draw the voltage down to 75-80v, but it will keep running.
80% found maintenance straightforward, but 20% faced complications
I found out from the manual that checking gasoline/oil mixture level and oil level of the machine is part of daily care and maintenance.
75% found it resistant to various weather conditions
I was able to run fans and lights with the generator during a storm, which made things more bearable in the Louisiana heat.
81% found it easy to start up
I appreciate the ease of starting up the generator, especially since I normally struggle with pull starts like lawnmowers and generators.
73% appreciated the long runtime
When I powered a 5cu.ft chest freezer, refrigerator, and box fan, the generator ran for roughly 5 hours.
75% found it easy to transport
The generator can be placed at a decent clip from our camping spot or outside our door on a porch if we lose power.
The generator is easy to pack and move around the campsite because it is small.
85% were satisfied with the quiet operation, but 15% were bothered
This machine does what it claims to do and more, providing a good amount of noise compared to other generators.
The noise level is around 80 decibel and it shakes a little bit, not as advertised.
81% liked the fuel efficiency, but 19% faced issues
When I ran the generator for a whole day during a power outage, it used around 1 1/2 gallons of fuel.
At 3-400 watts, our generator uses about 0.2 gallons of fuel per hour.
At that wattage, the generator burns through a tank of fuel in about 4.5 hours and consumes it at a higher rate.
75% liked the sturdy construction, but 25% found it flimsy
I broke in the generator and lubricated the cylinder, indicating my knowledge about the build quality.
I ran the generator for 15 minutes and then increased the load to 900 watts.
