About Solo Stove Mesa XL Tabletop Fire Pit with Stand
Overall Feedback:
68% positive
73% appreciated the heat output, while 27% wished for a more
I enjoy watching the hot flame caused by the design of the product with bottom forced air, but it also burns the wood faster.
I have found that the flame is extremely controlled and produces a significant amount of heat for its size.
I noticed that the pellets burn for a while and then just burn like coals without a flame. It's hot and you can cook. However, if you want the ambience of a small fire on your outdoor table, you must keep adding fuel every 5-7 minutes. The pellets burn for a while and then turn into coals without a flame.
71% liked size and capacity, but 29% found it too small
I am happy with the product upon unboxing. It will be great on the patio table or to bring to outdoor social events. Personally, I would like it bigger but then you would lose the table use and may as well get a full size bonfire.
I was disappointed with the size of the Mesa XL fire pit, despite it being my fault for not checking the measurements.
I compared the size of the product on Amazon with the XL size on Solo Stoves website and found the actual size of the XL version.
63% felt secure with the added safety measures, but 37% raised concens
Upon initial use, I thought the stove could be safely used on any table surface due to the bracket that elevates it above the surface. However, after reading the package directions, I learned that proper protection needs to be taken to prevent heat damage.
77% appreciated its multi-functional capabilities, yet 23% desired more
I initially had doubts about the size of the product, but was pleasantly surprised when it worked well and was perfect for sitting next to me on a table.
The fire-pit lasts for only 20 minutes and then it is full of hot embers, making it difficult to top up.
67% praised the material durability, yet 33% didn't
I have experience with wood fire and heat my house with wood, which shows my familiarity with the durability of outdoor fire pits.
I have plastic and composite tables, but the information states that they could burn a ring from being too hot on the bottom.
69% found assembly a breeze, but 31% struggled
I have to remove the ring that comes with the mesa XL for the heat deflector to sit securely.
It's fairly easy to reload, but catching it before the flames die away can be challenging. It takes a few minutes of heavy smoke before the next load catches.
The instructions advise against using it if the flame touches the deflector for any length of time.
