About Rubbermaid RM-PL1W Folding 1-Step Plastic Stool
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
98% praised for its easy foldability, but 2% found it tricky to fold and unfold
The stool has a rubberized top to prevent the dog from slipping.
It is difficult to unhook the top to fold it flat.
96% appreciated the high-quality materials used, although 4% found them somewhat flimsy
The top of the stool where I stand is made of a rubber non-slip material.
I use the foot stool twice a day as a riser for my dog's food bowl and then fold it up and place it under the sink.
As a craftsman who has studied industrial arts, I have seen many descriptions and pictures of accidents and injuries from other step stools with pop-apart corner hinges and collapsing/cracking tops.
I thought the product had a solid and sturdy design, but it broke at the hinge after limited use, causing one of my kids to fall off. I am disappointed with the product's quality.
I was disappointed with the quality of the product as it broke at the hinges while my toddler was standing on it, despite the toddler weighing less than 30 lbs. I have trusted the brand Rubbermaid in the past, which made the experience even more disappointing.
98% liked the non-slip feet for added stability
I like the non-slip rubber texture on the top of the stool.
I feel secure on the step with rubber, as my foot won't slip.
97% liked its lightweight and portable design
It is easily portable as it can be stored and folded up.
98% praised for its stability and balance, while 2% had concerns about tipping
The stool is sturdy and at the perfect height for a three or four year old at the sink.
I find the step stable on pavement, but I need to test it on turf before using it.
After coaxing my dog with his favorite treats, it worked and is now a stable little step.
I have no concerns over the sturdiness of the stool and it is not going to accidental collapse.
I feel safe using the step stool with its nonslip surface on top.
95% liked its high weight capacity, while 5% had concerns about exceeding the limit
I feel safe using the product as it is strong enough to hold my weight of 235 Lbs.
The step stool holds my handicapped daughter who weighs 169 lbs. without any issues.
The stool is light, easy to move around, and sturdy enough to support my weight (225 lbs) and whatever I am bringing down from those shelves (or putting back up there).
I had a previous stool that was supposed to hold up to 250 lbs but it didn't feel very sturdy and I always worried that it would collapse.
I like the 2 step levels. If I'm agile, it's fine. But if I have balance issues, it may not feel safe, although the back of the chair provides something to hold onto.
