I have used the mug everytime for coffee and washed my novelty coffee mugs in the dishwasher million times, it stays as new after 2.5 months.
I put the mugs in the dishwasher and they come out great. I used to wash them by hand but realized that the dishwasher works better.
The mug is thin but sturdy enough for a dishwasher.
My only complaint is that after a few runs in the dishwasher, some of the design comes off.
