About LEATHERMAN, Signal, 19-in-1 Multi-tool for Outdoors
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
75% were satisfied with the tool quality, whereas 25% weren't
The build quality is great except for the issues with the ferro rod design.
I feel that the build quality is very high and it feels sturdy.
I have been using a Leatherman multi tool for 20 years and it still has a good build quality. The cutting tools still cut, the saw is still sharp, and the knife is still razor sharp after countless uses and frequent sharpening.
The product has valuable tools for frequent unplanned trips into the woods and seems to be built well.
The overall quality of the multitool is top-notch.
I have two issues that bother me - the tool can not be folded shut when using the bit driver and the plastic seems a bit cheap on the file and whistle/ferrocerium rod.
I noticed that the Leatherman tool lost its satisfying click.
76% liked the durability, while 24% encountered issues
The craftsmanship and durability of our multi tool cannot be compared with anything else.
The Leatherman tool has a 25 year warranty and is really durable.
Having a fire striker and a sharpener built-in is especially important for survival tools, and it's a significant advantage for me.
I am confident that the tool can provide life-saving assistance in unexpected situations.
For the same amount of money, I recommend a Scaletool over other products like Supertool 300, Wave or even a poor Wingman as the product does not feel as durable.
79% found it easy to use
I used pliers to cut weedeater string and tighten some nuts.
71% liked the grip comfort, yet 29% found it uncomfortable
The multitool feels solid in my hand.
I noticed that the Signal's opening is a little loose, which might affect its grip comfort.
76% found the maintenance easy, but 24% struggled
I tested the tool by pulling out a couple hundred wood staples from my boxspring during a repair and then pounded a couple nails in, and it didn't even get a scratch. This proves that the tool is sturdy, easy to maintain, and can withstand heavy usage.
I feel that the multitool is not as durable as other options and suggest considering a Scaletool for the same price.
78% appreciated the portability
On our last camping trip, I easily pocket carried the multitool.
The best feature of the tool is its light weight, allowing me to carry it all day without noticing it in my pocket until I need it.
78% appreciated the safety features
The safety features of this Leatherman are top-notch. There is a mechanism that locks the knife closed when the pliers are opened, and the tools in the handle lock open.
The scissors are sharp and sturdy and have performed well on everything I have cut with them, although they are not suitable for paper cutting.
