I have found that this mug design holds heat exceedingly well, better than any other non-thermal mug I have owned.
The mugs keep the coffee or tea hot for an extended period and do not get hot to the touch after heating in the microwave.
Once hot water hits the mug, it cools a fair bit due to its thickness and size.
