About Vortex Optics Solo Monocular 10x36
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
90% found it easy to use, but 10% experienced difficulties
I found the monoculars easy to use and they offered a crisp image whether I used them with or without my eye-glasses.
I noticed that my husband had trouble using regular binoculars due to his cataracts. This option was better for him and he loved it. It was easy to carry around and use on excursions, and worked really well.
The focus ring is a little stiff, making one-handed operation difficult.
It's difficult to hold steady, especially while hiking on a challenging trail and being out of breath.
86% highlighted the great field of vision, but 14% faced difficulties
Looking through both monoculars, I couldn't tell a difference in their field of view.
The image has a good field of vision with crisp and bright display.
I have not mentioned anything specific about the field of vision of the monoculars.
I am interested in a 12x monocular, but most major brands don't make one and most people think 10x is overkill for monoculars.
88% were satisfied with the image quality
The 10x36 monocular has better image quality than the 10x25. It is not just brighter, but also more vibrant and clear.
I often get disappointed with optics that deliver sharp but dim images. The image quality of this monocular is very crisp and bright.
I compared the optic quality of the monocular with my diamondback binoculars and found it to be equal or slightly better.
95% liked the lightweight design, but 5% found it heavy
The monocular feels substantial without being heavy and the rubber armor feels nice, giving me confidence in my grip.
While hiking on a challenging trail and being out of breath, it's hard to hold the 10x36 model steady.
92% impressed by its high magnification power, but 8% didn't
The monocular has finely adjustable focus, stays where I leave it, and is sharp optically and bright in most lighting conditions.
I hardly ever order things to compare and send one back, so I will be returning the 8x magnification power this time round.
91% liked night vision capabilities
In low light conditions, the 10x36 monocular provides a better and more vibrant image.
The image is delightfully bright and crisp, indicating good night vision feature of the monocular.
93% praised the crystal-clear optics
The monocular is optically sharp, bright in most lighting conditions, and has finely adjustable focus that stays where I leave it.
I am amazed at the crisp and clear optics of the monocular.
The image is very crisp and bright. I am often disappointed with optics that deliver sharp but dim images, but this one is not an issue.
I have found that the image quality of Vortex monoculars is better than my almost 30 year old pair of Steiner 10x28 binoculars.
I was impressed with the field of vision at 21x and am confident I will have no issue seeing my 223 hits at 100, maybe even 200.
