I have found that 8GB is more than enough for simple text based logging data and these cards have worked everywhere I needed such storage.

The micro SD card works fine with Raspberry pi, portable players, cell phone and car stereo.

The USB-to-microSD reader made setting up the 3D printer very easy and it makes working with the SD cards easier since the only reader I had was attached to my CAD/CAM computer. Now, I can use the USB device to read SD cards on my laptop.
I tested the micro SD cards and found that the read/write speeds were average. One can get better speeds by buying a card rated for higher speeds.
I tested 6 Gigastone cards and found that they all scored the same speeds in ATTO disk benchmark in all adapters. The write speed was 12MB/sec and the read speed was 31.6MB/sec.
