I can distinguish between different types of metals like iron, zinc, silver, etc. The display is helpful in identifying the type of metal found and can be set for specific metals like pennies, quarters, or nickels.
I noticed that the metal detector was unable to distinguish between different types of metals like gold, silver, iron, aluminum, etc. I put a gold ring on the ground and it barely registered anything. It also gave a strong signal for silver in a root and across some other trees and tree roots, it indicated iron, tin, or silver.
