I have been disappointed by other shoes that promised to be waterproof, but these shoes are actually waterproof even in heavy rain and walking through puddles.
The shoes are truly waterproof up to the bottom of the padded collar/rim.
These shoes are waterproof but do not rise much above the ankles, so crossing streams is not recommended. Also, if water gets in, it won't come out, leaving your feet wet until you remove the shoes to drain them.
The shoes are definitely waterproof and the removable insole is brilliant.

The shoes have nice traction and the outsole has good strength without overly bending
The shoe's sole provides good grip on all trails, including creeks.
The shoes I am replacing are non-slip, but the new ones are a little more slippery due to the hard sole. However, they are of high quality and keep my feet dry.
The grip on the bottom of my sneaker is good and I don't slip while walking on smoother surfaces like concrete slopes when they are wet or on my roof to clean and check the gutters.
