The shoe has very good traction on a variety of surfaces, from wet lava rock on the beach to muddy mountain trails on Mauna Kea.
I have found that the shoes provide good stability on odd surfaces due to the contouring around my feet.
I buy these shoes because of their unsurpassed sole traction. I hike on muddy, rocky, wet, icy, mossy trails where I cannot afford to fall, and these shoes are excellent for this purpose.
I have been using these shoes for years and confidently know that they do not slip on mossy roots or rocks.
