I bought the large size as per my waist size but it felt a bit loose. I wondered if the elastic might stretch over time. So, I bought the medium size which fits snug, but not tight.
After 5 months of light wearing, the waistband elastic weakened in all 5 pairs.
In recent years, my size M briefs are now 32-34 and after a few washes, they stretch out more and look more like a regular boxer and not a boxer brief.

The striped pair has cheap oil-based polymer fabric paint used to set the pattern rather than being knit in. This makes the fabric thicker, traps bacteria, and makes it look ragged after not many washes.
