About rOtring 1904444 600 Mechanical Pencil
82% found the pencil weight balanced, but 18% didn't
I feel that the 600 is lighter despite being close to the same weight as the RP.
My pencil weighs 23 grams, just 2.5 grams more than the Pentel Graphgear 1000.
I like the heavy weight of the pencil as it positively affects my writing and drawing.
I find the pencil very heavy compared to others.
80% appreciated the refill mechanism
Refilling is easy and the screw thread has a precision feel to it.
Refilling this mechanical pencil with lead is simple and easy. There are two ways to do it - either by going in from the eraser or after opening the pencil entirely.
82% liked the precision for fine writing
I have never used a more responsive precision stylus.
The pencil is precise and doesn't cause hand cramps, making it ideal for drawing straight lines, diagrams, and taking notes for hours.
Mechanical pencils can be bought for less than a dollar, but rOtring 600/800 pencils are precision serious writing instruments for Engineers, architects, and artists.
The mechanical pencil has precise clicks of the lead advance and zero play in any of the moving parts, based on my experience.
80% found the lead variety useful
I have noticed that this pencil has varying grade leads which can be inserted by unscrewing the hexagonal body from the round grip. My sample came with H lead and size 0.5 suitable for technical drawing, but I think that HB, B, or even 2B would be better for sketching and writing - and a second pencil with thicker lead would be nice.
71% found the lead smooth
There is no play in the lead sleeve and only a small amount between the lead and the lead sleeve.
The lead grade indicator rotates smoothly and the lead advancement mechanism works very smoothly.
86% praised the lead durability, yet 14% found it broke easily
There is a rotating indicator at the top that can be set to show the type of lead I am using.
The lead inside is very durable. I had to push relatively hard to get it to snap, indicating that it should hold up well.
I prefer the thicker .7 lead as it is more durable than the .5 and still accurate.
I have a lot of issues with lead breakage while using the 0.5mm version with the Pentel Ain Stein 4B lead.

84% liked the grip comfort, whereas 16% found it uncomfortable
I find that the knurled grip provides comfortable writing with maximum control over the letters, and the writing is smooth.
The pencil grip is comfortable and does not cause any irritation.
The built-in grip is very comfortable and allows me to write for long periods of time, despite the pencil being made of metal.
The grip of my pencil provides exceptional traction without any discomfort over long periods of use.

83% appreciated the eraser quality, however 17% didn't
I faced an unexpected issue where the eraser got lodged into the mechanism while erasing something, which took time to fix.
The eraser on this pencil is not durable and not up to the mark. It requires frequent replacement.
68% appreciated the clip strength, but 32% found it weak
The clip of my pencil is strong enough to hold it in place and the tip is safe when I keep it tucked inside the spiral spine of my daily planner.
The clip is strong and sturdy, and it can withstand repeated attachments to binders, folders, pockets, etc.
The clip is too stiff and feels like it would bend. For something retractable, rOitting 800 is suggested.
78% liked the barrel design, but 22% found it unattractive
The metal construction of the pencil makes it feel like a premium product.
My favourite mechanical pencil is the Rotring 600 because of its unique hexagonal barrel, metal construction, and sturdy design.
The lettering on the barrel of my pencil wears off.
