About Rite in the Rain Weatherproof Mechanical Pencil
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
86% appreciated the refill mechanism
The replacement leads and erasers are affordable.
89% praised the lead durability
I like that the lead is thick and doesn't break when I write.
I find the lead thicker and tougher to break.
80% liked the grip comfort, whereas 20% found it uncomfortable
I really like this pencil because it is generally comfortable, lays down a nice line on almost anything, and has a nice clip that rides well in a pocket.
The ergonomic design of the pencil is comfortable in my hand, especially for carpal tunnel.
The plastic body is easy to grip and the metal clip works great for me, keeping it from rolling off the bench.
The grip feels comfortable and secure even with sweaty, wet, or greasy fingers.
I found the grip of the pencil uncomfortable and it hurt if any other part of my grip touched the sharp portions of the grip. I fixed the issue by scraping the ridges down smooth and now it's much better.
85% appreciated the eraser quality, however 15% didn't
On the rite in the rain paper, the eraser works significantly better than anything else I have tried.
The eraser fell out of my pen while it was clipped on my pocket for five minutes and it's loose.
91% appreciated the clip strength, but 9% found it weak
The clip is a plus point as it is not made of plastic.
The metal clip works great for me and keeps the pencil from rolling off the bench.
After being clipped on my pocket for five minutes, the eraser fell out of my pencil.
70% liked the barrel design, but 30% found it unattractive
I like the larger diameter lead as it holds up well when putting marks on rough wood.
The new pencils are better designed and lighter.
The pencil has a good weight, sturdy barrel, adjustable advance distance, big eraser and a pocket clip which is worth a damn.
I think the triangle shape is great, but the barrel could be longer.
The weight of the pencil is perfect and the metal knurled grip adds a nice low center of gravity to the instrument, making it easy to operate with gloves on or cold, wet, numb finger stubs.
