I found it easy to install the magnetic hooks using a grabber and position them exactly where I wanted along the steel cross grids.

I read reviews and decided to buy these magnets even if they only held 6 pounds. I put them to the test right away and found that they held 3.5 pounds on the refrigerator door and only 2 pounds on the wall. I then tried them on the heavier roof beam and they held 5 pounds. I also tried them on a piece of 1/4 steel and got 11 pounds. It looks like the thicker the steel, the better the hold.
