About HitLights 25 Watt Dimmable Driver, Electric LED Driver 110V AC-12V DC Transformer
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
71% liked the compatibility with various lighting systems, but 29% experienced some limitations
With a Lutron Maestro CL dimmer, the LEDs dim great without any humming or flicker.
I had issues with flicker or buzzing while using Magnitude magnetic dimmers, so I tried this one connected to an Insteon micro dimmer and got a beautiful result with no flickering or humming.
I found it a bit difficult to connect the low-voltage wires due to their weaved and thicker nature.
67% appreciated its performance in harsh environments
The transformer powers four 5W led lights and it is great.
71% liked the easy installation process, while 29% found it complex
I mounted the low-profile driver to the countertop as it allows mounting in areas with little height.
The product's only negative is its two small mounting notches with weak plastic around them, which made me cautious during installation to avoid snapping a tab.
85% praised for its quiet operation, but 15% noticed a slight humming noise
Dimming is really smooth down to around 7%, with no flickering, humming, or anything negative.
There is no humming noise and the LEDs dim perfectly with a Lutron Maestro CL dimmer, with no flicker at any setting. It can be dimmed to the point where there is almost no light.
I noticed that the new device stays cool and doesn't flicker at all, unlike the old one.
At such a low load, the transformer getting too hot is unacceptable.
69% praised for its energy-efficient design, while 31% noticed a slight energy loss
I have noticed that one driver is loaded to around 40 watts and the other is very lightly loaded at 7 watts.
Rephrased: One driver is loaded to around 40 watts and the other is very lightly loaded at 7 watts.
The transformer is more than adequate for our application and there is no evidence of any excessive heat buildup.
I replaced my old high wattage transformers with new LED track lights and found that the new transformer is more power efficient.
I am dissatisfied with the power efficiency of the transformer as it gets excessively hot at a low load, which is unacceptable.
74% found it to be highly reliable, but 26% experienced occasional issues
I noticed that the device gets a little warm at max power but not so hot that it warms the lower shelf inside the cabinet.
At max power, the device gets warm but doesn't heat the lower shelf inside the cabinet.
The dimming is really smooth with no flickering, humming or anything negative. It is a reliable product.
I am dissatisfied with the reliability of the lighting-low-voltage-transformer. It is unacceptable for a 60w transformer to reach 140+ F degrees at such a low load.
72% appreciated the built-in safety features, although 28% found some limitations
I had a hard requirement of no flickering and no flickering visible through phone camera too, which shows that I tested the safety feature of the lighting-low-voltage-transformer personally.
It was a bit difficult to connect the low-voltage wires due to their thick and weaved nature.
65% appreciated its stable voltage output, although 35% noticed occasional fluctuations
I am dissatisfied with the transformer's performance as it gets excessively hot at a low load, which is unacceptable.
68% liked the compatibility with various lighting systems
72% appreciated its performance in harsh environments
69% liked the easy installation process

It is perfectly acceptable to power a smaller rated device with a 5 amp adapter. For instance, a 2 amp device will work fine with it. However, it is not recommended to use an underspec adapter, and overspec adapters are recommended for extra margin.
