About Chanzon LED Driver 600mA (Constant Current Output) 18V-34V
88% liked the compatibility with various lighting systems, but 12% experienced some limitations
I purchased this item on April 6, 2017 and installed it in an Outdoor LED Security Light on 1-26-2018 when its Power Supply failed. The new Power Supply has been working fine until this morning 1-10-2019.
When I hooked up the light to a Cree 60W COB, it blinked/flashed, indicating that it was not compatible with the light.
88% appreciated its performance in harsh environments, but 12% experienced some limitations
If the LED/load does not draw the current that the driver can deliver, we suggest pulsing the output, but this may affect the product's durability in harsh environments.
92% liked the easy installation process, while 8% found it complex
I carefully positioned the transformer and used hot-melt glue to secure it to the housing because of its size.
70% praised for its quiet operation, but 30% noticed a slight humming noise
I purchased a driver with a specific output.
Lowering the setting made the LED blink faster.
85% praised for its energy-efficient design, while 15% noticed a slight energy loss
I measured the part in my LED Driver Assembly and found it to be 5uF instead of 10uF. I replaced it with a 22uF@50V and fixed the flashing on/off problem. I suspect that the part had too much AC ripple on it, which reduced its capacitance and shortened its life.
If the LED/load does not draw the current that the driver can deliver, I have observed that the driver pulses the output, affecting the power efficiency of the lighting.
87% found it to be highly reliable, but 13% experienced occasional issues
I am dissatisfied with the reliability of the lighting-low-voltage-transformers. They do not hold up for very long and there seems to be a design problem that results in them turning off/on. I have purchased two of these items and both have failed within a short period of time.
The drivers failed within 2 weeks of usage.
80% appreciated the built-in safety features, although 20% found some limitations
I discovered a design problem with the Elytrolytic Capacitor C6 10 uF 50V. I measured the part in my LED Driver Assembly and found that it measured 5uF instead of 10uF. I replaced this part with a 22uF@50V and the flashing on/off problem was fixed. I suspect that this part has too much AC ripple on it which reduces its capacitance and shortens its life.
When I connected the driver to a Cree 60W COB, the light started blinking, indicating that the overload protection was tripping.
64% appreciated its stable voltage output, although 36% noticed occasional fluctuations
I have observed that if the LED/load does not draw enough current, the driver pulses the output.
