About Makita XBU03Z Lithium Ion Brushless Cordless 18V LXT Blower
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
79% were satisfied with the air nozzle design
I have noticed that the air pressure at the end point significantly increases when the flat nozzle is attached.
95% appreciated the airflow capacity
At full throttle, the blower's high airflow capacity makes it hard to hold on to.
At full throttle, the blower produces a lot of airflow, making it hard to hold on to.
86% found the battery long lasting, yet 14% experienced rapid drainage
For my 1.2 acres, the battery life is too short.
The battery life was much shorter than expected.
80% highlighted the maintenance requirements, but 20% found them excessive
To use the blower effectively, I need to be prepared to get additional parts.
My first leaf-blower died within 20 minutes of use.
86% found it silent to operate
At low speeds, the blower is not audible and does not disturb sleep even when blowing light dust.
The leaf blower is beautifully balanced, vibrationless, and quiet. It is also relatively light, and although blowers are inherently loud, I believe it is about as quiet as they can get.
I appreciate the silent operation of the leaf-blower, it's a game changer.
91% appreciated the speed levels, while 9% found them inadequate
At low speeds, the blower is not very audible, but on High speed, it sounds like a small jet engine.
The variable speed function via the trigger is inspired.
I can adjust the speed of the leaf-blower by trigger and it has a large bandwidth range to full speed.
When I bump the trigger for a quick burst, I notice that the blower is slow to spin up to speed and lacks power.
82% were satisfied with the storage
I received the product and put it in the charger from another Makita product I purchased before and used it to clean up the backyard.
92% found it light in weight
The leaf blower works well and is lighter. It's not as powerful as my old Stihl blower, but the trade off is positive.
90% liked the motor performance
I have Makita's most powerful 18v blower, which has sufficient performance for small jobs.
The Makita LXT 18v batteries and chargers fit right in and the battery life is decent. This leaf-blower is stronger than other brand, single battery units I have tried.
I have noticed a design flaw in the air nozzle of the blower. The air intake is on the left side, which is inconvenient for right-handed people. If the blower is too close to the side, it sucks up against you, causing no air to go in and therefore no air to come out. To avoid this issue, it is suggested to keep the blower at a distance from the side.
I gave the leaf blower a 4 rating because, as a right-handed person, the intake on the motor can sometimes suck in artifacts when I wave past my pants or jacket, despite its powerful performance.
