About Makita XBU02Z 36V (18V X2) LXT Brushless Blower
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
92% were satisfied with the air nozzle design; however 8% found it awkward
When using the unit close to clothes, they sometimes get sucked in because the intake air is located underneath the batteries on the opposite end.
92% found the battery long lasting, yet 8% experienced rapid drainage
I had a bad experience with off-brand batteries as they lasted only for 2 charges and died. Now, I only buy Makita brand batteries and they last forever.
After charging the batteries, I was able to use the blower for 30 minutes on less than half of my large driveway loaded with pinecones and leaves.
88% found it light in weight, but 12% felt it was little heavy
The leaf-blower is heavier than expected, but my wife can still use it.
The leaf blower is a little heavy on my forearm, but I switch hands or use my other hand to help hold it.
I find the blower too heavy to handle, weighing 15 1/2 pounds.
The blower is quite heavy to hold for 10-15 minutes in one hand.
93% highlighted the maintenance requirements, but 7% found them excessive
I had to learn how to manage the new rechargeable batteries of the leaf-blower. I provided a list of instructions to manage the batteries, including removing them when not in use and using most all of the battery power before recharging.
96% found it silent to operate
I think the leaf-blower is refreshingly quiet, probably because it's not extremely powerful.
92% appreciated the speed levels, while 8% found them inadequate
I like the power levels and tend to do most cleaning jobs on #4 level. It is great for leaves on the decks and the driveway.
On high speed, it could potentially blow small children across the yard.
When I ran the device at maximum speed, the battery died in just 20 minutes.
I need to operate the blower on higher settings as low power levels don't have much power.
I have noticed a design flaw in the air nozzle of the blower. The air intake is on the left side, which is inconvenient for right-handed people. If the blower is too close to the side, it sucks up against you, causing no air to go in and therefore no air to come out. To avoid this issue, it is suggested to keep the blower at a distance from the side.
The Makita LXT 18v batteries and chargers fit right in and the battery life is decent. This leaf-blower is stronger than other brand, single battery units I have tried.
The design of the leaf blower's intake sucks in clothing and stops air flow.
