I tried reinstalling it, but it still only printed on the right side. Then, I installed an old cartridge and it printed on both sides, but faintly. I opened a second new cartridge and it still only printed on the right side.

I took it out, shook it, and reinstalled it, but the same problem occurred. I thought my machine was having a problem, so I installed the nearly depleted old cartridge and it printed faintly but readable on both sides. I opened a second new cartridge, followed the instructions again, installed it, and got the same results. I couldn't believe both cartridges were defective, but they were.
