Overall Feedback:
88% positive
91% praised for its high accuracy, while 9% experienced inconsistent readings
The device is a must-have for taking measurements, especially when working alone, as it is extremely accurate and easy to use.
If the ceiling is not 100% flat over a distance, the laser will hit the ceiling instead of the wall or crown molding.
88% appreciated the extra features
This laser-distance-meter makes all other measurements obsolete when scoping out work.
If we had offset the laser to one side, it would have been perfect.
84% appreciated the long battery life, though 16% experienced shorter battery life
If we offset the laser to one side, it would be perfect.
I tried an old acoustic device that was finicky and inaccurate half the time, so I went back to using a tape or wheel, implying that the battery life of the device was not good.
90% liked the rugged and durable design, but 10% experienced damage
I had to go back to using a tape or wheel because the old acoustic device I used was finicky and inaccurate half the time.
90% found it easy to operate
I found the product enjoyable to use with a focus on the quality of the display, buttons, and overall feel of the device.
I found the laser tape measure easy to use and extremely accurate, making it a must-have for taking measurements, especially by oneself.
93% liked the extended measuring range
I tested the accuracy of the laser readings and found them practically identical to the tape measure.
I am dissatisfied with the tape measure and gave it a 2-star rating because it can measure accurately, but I believe cheaper alternatives could also do the same.
The device is sensitive to the surface being aimed at. Wood and anything glossy gave up to +/-5mm errors and inconsistent readings when repeating the exact same measurement. Matt painted surfaces worked best and gave completely consistent and accurate readings, better and much easier to take than using any human operated tape measure. To achieve accuracy and consistency, I now place a piece of white copier paper and blutack if measuring against anything wood or shiny. This also helps with aim over longer distances. Used this way, I found it mm accurate to the measuring (1 mm) resolution of the machine.
