About Plugable 14-in-1 USB-C and Thunderbolt Dock
87% found it compatible with devices, yet
The device works fine with other TB devices such as Dell U4021QW monitor and OWC TB3 Thunderbay 4.
I appreciate the feature that I don't have to worry about whether I have an M1 or M2 chip in my MacBook, which shows that the docking station is compatible with laptop devices.
My external HDDs do not stay connected when I use them for image processing.
91% found it compatible with different os
The dock works out of the box without requiring CPU-destroying DisplayLink software. It has fundamental tradeoffs due to being Thunderbolt.
93% liked the data transfer speed
I can use my Corsair keyboard, mouse, and webcam with enough power on the docking station. It also supports full refresh rate on dual external monitors (1440 165 hz).
92% were satisfied with the ease of use
I am completely satisfied with the Plugable 14-in-1 Docking Station and have been using it for a couple of weeks.
I use all the ports except one on a daily basis and everything works without any problem.
I found the docking station easy to install and have had no issues using it daily.
90% highlighted the multi-monitor support,but
This is the first dock I have used that supports dual external monitors through the 1 usb-c port. I tried five other docks including similar prices dell, Belkin, and hp.
I have been using this dock since July 2021 and it is the only dock on Amazon that can support 2 monitors on 1440p@120hz on a M1 Max Macbook Pro over a single cable.
The dock supports everything without extra drivers, but I am facing an issue where my two 4K monitors blank for a few seconds and periodically only one of them comes back.
The docking station cannot run both monitors simultaneously.
90% liked the number and types of ports, while
The 40gps Thunderbolt 4 port and the Dock really deliver.
I don't have to pick and choose which ports to plug devices into because all 5 USB ports on the back and the front USB and USB-C ports are high speed.
I have noticed that previous dongles I have used rarely had enough USB ports to connect all peripherals without daisy-chaining another USB hub.
84% were satisfied with the power delivery
The docking station reliably provides 96 W charging power to my M1 computers, eliminating the need for an additional bulky power adapter.
The docking station has 96 watts of power delivery via USB-C cable to computer, which is significantly more than some competing docking stations.
