It's very useful to have one of these adapters on my desk, where everything connects to the adapter (USB/Screen/Network cable...), and only one connector is used to link all these devices to my laptop and charge it at the same time.
I wanted to connect a second monitor to my Surface Pro 9 without using one of the USB-C ports on the side, but the docking station did not have the required ports. I also checked for a mini HDMI port on the dock, but it was not available.
