About iVANKY ROG Ally/Steam Deck OLED Dock
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
94% found it compatible with devices
The dock is compatible with multiple devices including Nintendo Switch, PC, laptop, HDMI and USB-C devices. It allows for seamless switching between multiple devices.
The dock is compatible with Valve Steam Deck and allows me to connect it to an external monitor or TV, as well as other peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, and external hard drive.
88% found it compatible with different os,yet
The dock is versatile as it is compatible with various devices like Legion Go, ROG Ally, and Steam Deck.
For online gaming, a fast and stable internet connection is necessary, which is provided by the Gigabit Ethernet connector.
The dock is incompatible with my kickstand protective case.
90% liked the data transfer speed
I tested the ethernet connection and saw a peak speed of 65.7mbps while downloading.
There was no delay in data and image transmission and the image was clear.
With CAT6 ethernet cable and Gigabit internet service, the speed is blazing fast.
92% appreciated the durability; however
It seems like a quality issue and I have seen too many other reviews dealing with this issue to believe otherwise.
93% were satisfied with the ease of use
I find this docking station to be high-quality and well-suited for use with the Valve Steam Deck.
The laptop-docking-station is lightweight, portable, and can be used in a variety of ways with multiple devices.
92% highlighted the multi-monitor support
The docking station has multiple ports including HDMI 2.0 output with 4K@60Hz resolution, a Gigabit Ethernet port, 3 USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C port for full-speed charging.
The HDMI output supports 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, providing a smooth and seamless gaming experience.
93% were satisfied with the power delivery, but
The docking station has a 100W maximum power output and a charging speed of 45W.
I could not get more than 35W under heavy load from the docking station that claims to support 100W input, which makes me doubt the authenticity of the claim.
During the mission, the deck died mid-way as the power supply was not enough and it slowly drained the battery.
I connected a 100W adapter to the dock but after an hour or so of using my ROG Ally, the battery was down to 10% while still plugged into the dock.
83% appreciated the security features
The dock is compatible with the Valve Steam Deck and allows me to connect it to an external monitor or TV, as well as other peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, and external hard drive.
The laptop-docking-station has a robust build quality, reassuring durability.
The dock is compatible with multiple devices including Nintendo Switch, PC, laptop, HDMI and USB-C devices. It allows for seamless switching between multiple devices.
The right angle USB-C connector is fairly low profile, so when trying to unplug it from a gaming device with a case, there isn't much to grip and I end up rocking it back and forth to get it out. This can cause premature wear on the USB-C port and increases the chances of it failing.
The hardwired USB C cable is very short and the L-shaped jack makes it difficult to use with non-Steam devices, except maybe a phone.
