About Belkin USB-C Hub, 7-in-1 MultiPort Docking Station for MacBook & Windows
Overall Feedback:
69% positive
71% found it compatible with devices, yet
This adapter is compatible with any USB C device, including MacBooks, Samsung Galaxy S21, Windows laptop, or even a Chromebook.
The product is functioning well and is compatible with my M1 MacBook Air.
The Belkin hub has multiple connections including USB A, micro-SD card slot, SD card slot, 3.5 mm phono jack, HDMI slot for a monitor connection, and PD 3.0 USB C power connection.
I searched for a long time to find a compatible hub for my M1 MacBook Air and chose this one because it is a known brand that is also sold by Apple, but it is not functional.
68% found it compatible with different os,yet
The device is functioning well and is compatible with my M1 MacBook Air.
I had a hard time finding a compatible hub for my M1 MacBook Air and chose a known brand sold by Apple, but it was not functional.
77% appreciated the durability; however
This laptop docking station feels sturdy and durable.
I have noticed that the device gets quite hot and may pose a potential fire hazard, which is a concern for durability and safety.
I purchased a second laptop-docking-station which failed within a month.
72% were satisfied with the ease of use
I find it really useful in the current era of dongles.
67% liked the number and types of ports, while
I am satisfied with the hub, even though I haven't tested all the ports.
The Belkin USB-C Hub has multiple ports, but not all of them work simultaneously, which can be inconvenient when using two USB ports.
The only downside of the device is that the USB ports are only on one side, it would be more convenient if they were on both sides.
The HDMI port didn't work, but the USB ports worked fine.
69% were satisfied with the power delivery, but
To charge my iPad and/or use the HDMI slot, I need a 30 watt plug when using the PD 3.0 connector.
I am concerned about the claim that the docking station can pass through power up to 80 watts to power my laptop.
The device does not support PD pass-through or an external PD for power, causing quick battery drain of my laptop as each device draws power directly from the USB-C port.
72% appreciated the security features,but
This laptop docking station lacks some security features such as USB C Power Delivery passthrough charging and USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps data transfer speeds) or USB C data ports, as I mentioned.
I cannot use the docking station to power my computer as I get a slow charging error and the computer wants to go into energy saving mode. The docking station would need a USB C input of at least 85 watts for it to charge my laptop with 65 watts.
I have connected multiple devices to the docking station without any issues. These include 1 HDMI monitor, 1 VGA monitor with VGA-to-HDMI converter, speakers, printer/scanner, network cable, wireless keyboard/mouse, wired trackball mouse, iPhone Lightening cable, second Brother scanner and portable hard drive.
My first adaptor's ethernet port went bad within 5 months, making it useless for high speed work.
