I have had a negative experience with v-tech phones having appallingly bad audio and no clarity, but the sound quality on this phone is good.
I experienced poor call clarity as the caller could not hear me, even though I could hear them.
I have complained that my phone keeps ringing with no incoming call and when I answer, it's just a dial tone. The same issue occurs with the answering machine, leaving a message that is just a dial tone.
The 'amplification' button on the left side of my handset is easy to bump, which shuts off the LOUDER setting and suddenly makes it hard for me to hear the caller.

It would be better if the answering machine played the message loud when I am unable to answer the call. Also, I have to wait till the message is finished to know what the caller was calling about.
I find the caller ID voice to be very muffled and unclear, almost like gibberish.
