About TOMLOV DM9 7" LCD Digital Microscope 1200X
Overall Feedback:
94% positive
76% liked the easy focus adjustment, but 24% found it difficult
I found it easy and comfortable to adjust the height of the microscope, the zoom factor, and the light attachments to focus the light where I needed it.
The microscope has fantastic details and the lights can be adjusted, which is pretty great.
I'm glad I didn't get a model with a fixed microscope-like stand. There is a lot of flexibility with a detached unit like this.
I have complained that the adjustable neck of the microscope is not long enough to point in the direction needed.
The adjustable neck of the microscope is not long enough to point in the direction needed.
I found that the top assembly couldn't screw to the base metal due to a defect in threading.
74% appreciated the long battery life, but 26% experienced short battery life
I have a dozen rechargeable 18650 batteries and an external charger for my SCUBA lights. They are fairly common and last for about 3 hours each.
After a full charge, the microscope is easy to use and lasts for a couple of hours. The manual states that using all the lights included drains the battery faster.
The battery is not holding a charge.
I am unsure about how to charge the battery, get the 'charge mode' selection back on the screen, and save photos to the SD card in the Tomlov.
83% praised the rugged and durable design
The microscope is suitable for both amateurs and professionals with its sturdy construction and user-friendly interface.
I am happy with my purchase, but I am not sure how durable it is. I will wait to see how it performs over time.
The microscope is a significant improvement over my previous one.
I can stamp photos without touching the screen or shaking it, making the device durable.
At maximum and minimum settings, the picture quality remains the same even when zoomed in.
I have noticed that the image quality of the microscope is not up to the mark. The photos taken with this microscope have a small size of only 5.69mb, which is not good enough. Comparing it with my Nikon D7200 camera, the image size of my camera is much bigger and better.
91% praised the reliable led light source, while 9% found it dim
The digital microscope has dual lights that can be angled on either side of the slide or petri dish to provide light either from the top or coming from the side.
It is difficult to position the lights correctly while examining a small object because they are too big.
86% liked the compact and portable design
I found the remote control very useful.
I used the microscope for over two days and still had all 3 bars of battery, indicating good portability.
I can use the device for soldering circuits and grading coins as it is portable and large enough.
74% appreciated the high zoom power, though 26% found it limited
I have found that the microscope has a good zoom capability. I was able to zoom in on an object to the point where I could see the paper threads and ink. To achieve this level of zoom, the usb camera/microscope needs to be about 1/2 inch away.
I was able to switch from my webcam to the microscope during a Zoom meeting without any problem.
I found it easy and comfortable to adjust the height of the microscope, zoom factor, and light attachments to focus the light where I needed it.
The magnification capabilities up to 1200X are impressive and reveal intricate details of coins, specimens, and more.
I found it easy and comfortable to adjust the height of the microscope, the zoom factor, and the light attachments to focus the light where I needed it.
I found that the height of the adjustable support brace for the camera was too short to view the entire coin or photograph it.
