About Plugable USB 2.0 Digital Microscope with Flexible Arm Observation Stand Compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux
Overall Feedback:
91% positive
77% liked the easy focus adjustment, but 23% found it difficult
The adjustable illumination works very well.
The focus adjustment works well but is a tad stiff. I had some difficulty micro adjusting without moving the camera, I had to hold the camera with one hand and adjust with the other.
I suggest that the flexible arm of the microscope wobbles less when adjusting the focus, and have a specific suggestion for improvement.
I dislike the capacitive touch button as it is difficult to hold the microscope steady and adjust the focus without accidentally triggering it multiple times.
69% appreciated the long battery life, but 31% experienced short battery life
The microscope is affordable and has democratized the microscopic realm at an almost shocking price.
The LEDs are great.
I did not mention anything about the battery life of the lab-handheld-digital-microscopes.
My device's battery life is pretty quick and it drains my cell phone battery quickly.
I don't expect the device to last long for a child or an everyday user.
77% praised the rugged and durable design, while 23% experienced breakage
This microscope is good for hobby or occasional curiosity use but not durable enough to replace a $100 optical microscope for applications where good focus is required without having to put up with slow update rate and wobble.
I find that the gooseneck mount easily pops out of the U-shaped mounting bracket and is not strong.
78% found it easy to use
The camera is easy to use as it is light weight and has manual focus.
This device is now my favorite for viewing very small objects because it is extremely easy to set-up and view them.
The software interface is easy to use for taking single shots, timed shots, and movies in a range of resolutions.
The product is extremely easy to use with fantastic software that is easy to install and in readable English.
79% praised the high-resolution images, while 21% experienced pixelation
I found the image quality and lighting to be reasonably good for the price, adequate for inspection and discovery even at lower resolutions and on a smaller screen.
Considering its low price, the image quality of this microscope is impressive.
The images are not acceptable and look more like abstract art.
The image quality is not great at first magnification of around 50x, but rotating the focus wheel makes it blurry and then sharp again at a much higher magnification.
I noticed that the camera's light source is not focused on small electronics components just a few millimeters high.
78% liked the compact and portable design
The major limitation of the device is the provided Digital Viewer. However, once I moved away from that, I became more impressed with its platform portability every day.
The stand allows for distancing to and from objects.
This device is flexible and can zoom in by moving the head close to the object and focusing. At this power, a full frame is a little less than 5mm.
80% appreciated the high zoom power, though 20% found it limited
I can focus on objects closer than a regular camera.
The device is flexible and can zoom in by moving my head close to the object. The full frame is a little less than 5mm at this power.
I noticed that the microscope doesn't have a true zoom feature.
The zoom from 50-250x is not a real zoom control, but rather I need to move the object closer or further away to get the desired picture, as I mentioned before.
I compared the image quality of Teslong with Celeston microscope camera and found that Teslong has better image quality.
