About Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet Set - Includes 8 Inch Skillet
Overall Feedback:
76% positive
68% liked the lightweight design, whereas 32% found it too heavy
This is the heaviest iron skillet I have owned and I don't feel safe lifting it due to my age and arthritis.
68% found it scratch resistant, yet 32% noticed scratches after some use
The rim of the pan looks like it has been ground down by an angle grinder, indicating poor scratch resistance.
I noticed that the cookware set is not scratch-resistant as my stainless steel spatula got scratched while using it to fry an egg.

74% appreciated the heat distribution; however, 26% found it uneven
I have had a negative experience with the pan as it came with a hot spot in the middle which has only worsened over time. The pan is now deformed, bowed and spins when heated.
The skillet does not distribute heat evenly, making most of the pan useless except for the center where the food cooks.
68% liked the handle comfort, while 32% found them uncomfortable
The signature teardrop handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, making it easy for me to maneuver the skillet.
I gave the product 4 stars because the handle is too short and difficult to maneuver. A longer handle would make it easier to balance.
70% highlighted the ease of cleaning, although 30% found it difficult to clean
To maintain the non-stick surface of the pan, I suggest not using soap to clean it out. Instead, use very hot water and scrub it with a brush.
I initially had a hard time cleaning eggs off the pan, but then I decided to only cook vegetables and meat on it and no longer have issues with cleaning.
71% appreciated the durability, whereas 29% found it less sturdy
After just two uses, the pan started rusting despite following the recommended care instructions.
All of our pans have scratch marks covering them, as if they had been carved with knives. However, we do not have any metal cooking utensils, so we are unsure of how they got scratched.
I use silicone or wood utensils when cooking with the pans as they have gotten pretty scratched up.
