The stand is well designed for portability. Disconnecting the two crossbars instantly creates four separate pieces that can lie down flat. Removing the upper tier arms further shrinks the footprint. It may not be necessary to do this all the time, but if the stand is completely dismantled, it can be carried in an average sized sports bag.
