The keyboard and mouse have a switch to preserve battery life, resulting in long battery life. I have no idea about the exact time.
The keyboard and mouse come with AA batteries and have an on/off switch to save juice at the end of the day.
I would be thrilled if the product lasts for 16 years like my older one.

I have not faced any issues yet and there are some buttons on my keyboard that I did not have on my old keyboard that I use all the time, like a play/pause button.

Everything connects into one little USB, which is pretty insane.
I appreciate the wireless connectivity of my keyboard, no longer having to deal with wires.
I did not mention anything about the connectivity of the keyboard-mouse-combos.
The wireless mouse and keyboard combination works reliably for a couple of months, but then becomes less reliable. Keyboard strikes only randomly register and the mouse cursor disappears or jumps randomly around the screen, making it difficult to click on targeted points.
