I used the drill bit for what I needed, even though it didn't go through easily.
Out of 6 different sizes, 3 broke off, 2 just changed color, and the larger size just kept on turning without any outcome.

I had difficulty drilling holes in a stainless steel step tube using carbon steel bits, but the Cobalt drill bits were able to drill right through it. I personally found them to be accurate for my purpose.
I'm not sure what was going on with the 7/64th bit and later I broke the tip off another bit, so the hardness is really there.
