About EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2 Max
Overall Feedback:
82% positive
86% found it easy to transport
The unit is easy to move around onsite with an integrated weight distribution handle, and I can carry it to my vehicle if needed.
The handle placement may seem awkward, but it's not uncomfortable to carry and allows the top to be flat for easy storage in a camper or on a shelf.
This inverter-generator is perfect for portability with proportional power capacity for being on the move.
82% appreciated the fuel efficiency, though 18% didn't
I tested the fuel efficiency of the inverter-generator and found that it operates at 78% efficiency with a continuous 110w AC load.
My inverter efficiency is really bad and it cuts the advertised battery life in half when running AC appliances.
75% appreciated the low maintenance, though 25% didn't
I need to be present at home for FedEx to pick up the inverter-generator during delivery.
I am dissatisfied with the DC side of the unit as it is rated for 100 watts but I have not been able to get any higher than 47 watts before the unit goes into overload protection or the voltage drops too low and whatever I am powering shuts itself off due to a low voltage condition.
77% liked the quiet operation, but 23% found it loud
The cooling fan comes on every 60 minutes and runs for 30 seconds. The sound is hardly noticeable even when I am sitting 5 feet away.
The noise level of the inverter-generator can be reduced by turning down the AC charge speed to 30-40% depending on the model. If solar charging is used, there won't be any noise issue.
The fans of the device are very loud and come on even when charging at the slowest speed.
During low energy input, the system display appears to loop through wake-up shut-down cycles and may sound like a fax machine.
I do not want to use it in my office as a UPS because of the noise level.
82% praised the power output, but 18% experienced fluctuations
I used the highest wattage around 150 watts, starting with 500w output and boosting to 1000 watts.
I ran the ICECO VL60 for 18 hours at 34 degree F with 90 degree outside ambient temperature.
I noticed that the inverter steps down the voltage to run the appliance, but it results in less performance.
The inverter reduces voltage to run the appliance, but it affects performance.
The power output is significantly less than the rated capacity.
78% appreciated the safety features, although 22% encountered issues
The unit is well built and has a nice Bluetooth enabled app for monitoring all its functions on your phone.
While supplying power to other 12v devices, I noticed that the 12v output makes a high pitch sound.
I can easily carry the whole setup and a chair into the sun.
