About Thermaltake Smart 500W Continuous Power with 120mm Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan PS-SPD-0500NPCWUS-W
87% appreciated the efficiency rating, yet 13% faced issues
Efficiency tests on Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 6600 were amazing for my use at 50w idle and 115w load.
I advise potential buyers to keep in mind that the product's efficiency is maxed at 50% load.
85% liked the power output stability, but 15% didn't
The 500 watt supply revived my platform that died unexpectedly.
The power output stability of our internal power supply is poor. The 12v rail has more ripple than expected and under load, the RMS voltage sits around 11.4v, which is lower than expected. The power output drops to below 10.5v regularly, causing instability.
86% found the operations silent, while 14% experienced weird noises
I compared the noise level of the power supply with my CPU cooling fan and found it to be quieter.
I suggest that Thermaltake use a better fan or have the PWM be at an inaudible frequency to make the power supply silent.
79% were satisfied with protection features, yet 21% weren't
I bought a power supply that was worth the few extra dollars as compared to the cheap ones. The cheap ones sound noisy and give off more RF interference than any of the good ones.
If the PSU decides to freak out, it could fry up my computer. This indicates that it lacks protection features and doesn't have a high level of certification.
69% appreciated the cooling mechanism
The power supply has an open case design which helps it stay cooler than a mostly closed 'zero RPM' supply.
