Experiential insights by users
About Corsair RMX Series (2021), RM1000x, 1000 Watt, Gold, Fully Modular Power Supply
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
95% found the operations silent
I recommend this power supply as it can handle new hardware and GPUs and is so quiet that I forget I even own it.
The PSU is quiet until it goes over 300 watts.
At idle, the PSU fan does not run and neither do the other fans, resulting in a completely silent operation of the internal-power-supplies.
86% were satisfied with protection features
I recommend getting a surge protector to prevent the computer from exploding if the power goes out.
92% liked the power output stability
I stress the PSU to 50~65% of its rated capacity for cleaner electricity to the mainboard and other components on their respective rails.
I am using this power supply with a specific set of components and it has been rock-solid stable.
I never faced any issues with voltage quality, stability, durability, noise levels or anything else.
86% appreciated the efficiency rating
I have found that the efficiency rating of these types of PSUs is within the published tolerance levels and there are no adverse effects.
Our internal power supply is so efficient that it doesn't need to run until heavy use.
The power supply doesn't feel hot even though the fan isn't running.
For home use, the 80 Gold rating is adequate in most considerations. But, if we have a server farm of a dozen or hundred computers, then a rating of 90 Platinum would positively affect energy usage cost.
I have complained that the cooling fan in this PSU is extremely loud and it gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
The cooling fan in this PSU is too loud and gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
I have noticed that the power supply has a Zero RPM Fan Mode which ensures a quiet computing experience. The fan remains idle until the power supply reaches a certain temperature or load, keeping noise levels to a minimum.
