About CORSAIR RM Series (2021), White, RM850, 850 Watt, 80 Plus Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
77% appreciated the efficiency rating, yet 23% faced issues
I appreciate the higher standards of clean power drawn over the years due to the efficiency rating of the internal power supplies.
I had to replace the power supply unit because it was underpowering the GPU, causing numerous crashes and affecting productivity.
79% found the operations silent
The internal power supply operates silently.
76% highlighted the modularity, while 24% didn't
I faced a problem while upgrading the power supply. The new power supply did not come with 3 4 pins which I needed to power the motherboard. After some research, I found out that I only needed to use one 8 pin and everything powered up nicely.
The PSU I have is modular and eliminates unnecessary cables.
I suggest improving the power supply unit by providing 3 or 4 single PCI-e cables for individual GPU cables, and adding a 4 pin ATX cable for more CPU power.
I had to plug in all the modular cables before inserting the PSU itself due to the tight fit to get things in there nicely, which means I would have to take it out if I needed to plug in any additional cables in the future.
The Corsair cx650m power supply has a cool exhaust air and a barely audible fan at idle. The fan speed remains constant from 0 to nearly 400W, as advertised by Corsair.
I have complained that the cooling fan in this PSU is extremely loud and it gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
The cooling fan in this PSU is too loud and gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
The power supply is modular, cutting down on cable management issues.
