About Corsair CP-9020177-UK RM550x 80 Plus Gold 550 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Overall Feedback:
82% positive
82% appreciated the cooling mechanism
I am impressed with the cooling mechanism of the internal-power-supplies as it boasts of a zero RPM mode and I don't even know it's there.
My entire PC is running much cooler after fitting this PSU.
79% highlighted the modularity
The modular design of our internal power supply makes it easy to install.
The power supply has plenty of modular cables, allowing me to install only the ones I need. It's fairly simple to install and all the cables are long enough to stretch to where they're needed, even on a big case like HAF-X.
The modular aspect is excellent, allowing me to connect the case tidily.
The power supply is completely modular, so I only need to plug in the required cables to power the installed kit.
83% found the operations silent, while 17% experienced weird noises
I made sure to get more wattage than required so that the PSU always works at less than half of its capacity, ensuring cool and quiet operation in semi-passive mode.
I bought the PSU for the zero fan silent mode and it has performed beautifully.
The fan I have is the quietest I have ever used.
The power supply operates silently and the fan only spins when necessary.
I have noticed that the fan operation is completely silent as they only start spinning when needed. This keeps the system noise down when not performing demanding tasks on my PC. The fans start spinning only when my system uses over 220w of power and even then, they are quiet.
I purchased the tablet mainly because it is almost silent even under load, but it was let down by the coil whine.
74% appreciated the efficiency rating
The fan runs almost silently even at temperatures around 30 C and less than 80W power. The rated figure of 18 db seems credible.
I bought an 850w PSU with excess power because I had heard that they are not as efficient as stated, but with this product, that is not the case.
The power supply is performing excellently and I am impressed with it. The fan starts at about 40 degrees C.
The power supply has a high efficiency rating, resulting in less heat, fan use, and noise.
I have noticed that the power supply has a Zero RPM Fan Mode which ensures a quiet computing experience. The fan remains idle until the power supply reaches a certain temperature or load, keeping noise levels to a minimum.
I have complained that the cooling fan in this PSU is extremely loud and it gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
The cooling fan in this PSU is too loud and gets too hot even when the PC is at idle.
I appreciate the higher standards of clean power drawn over the years due to the efficiency rating of the internal power supplies.
